DUNKIRK — The Dunkirk Police Department said it is investigating an apparent shooting incident that left a person in the hospital Thursday evening.

In a short news release, Dunkirk police say they were called to Brooks Memorial Hospital around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a victim with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said no further information was available and the investigation was ongoing.
