LAKEWOOD — Three people were transported to the hospital following a head-on crash Monday afternoon.

The two adults and a child all suffered minor injuries in the collision, reported at about 2:25 p.m. on Route 394 at Vukote Road near Lakewood.

Kurt Hallberg, Lakewood fire chief, said it appears one of the vehicles turned into the path of the other. Lakewood firefighters transported all three of the injured to UPMC Chautauqua.

Volunteer firefighters from Ashville assisted at the scene. Officers with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department also responded.

Crews were on scene for about an hour.

Hallberg said the collision was the sixth in Lakewood’s district since Friday. He said firefighters responded to four crashes on Friday; another on Saturday; and one Monday. None resulted in serious injuries.
