SINCLAIRVILLE — A 64-year-old Sinclairville man was killed when his pickup truck struck a farm tractor late Wednesday.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Charlotte Center Road in the town of Charlotte. The pickup truck reportedly struck the rear of a southbound tractor hauling a manure spreader, being operated by Jason R. Johnson, 49, of Sinclairville.

The driver of the pickup, Jack N. Abbey, was pronounced dead at the scene by a county coroner.

Firefighters from Sinclairville and Gerry responded to the scene, as did Chautauqua County EMS and the Accident Reconstruction Team.

The incident remains under investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.
