ISCHUA — The driver of a bus that crashed Tuesday morning was pronounced dead at Olean General Hospital, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said.

The First Student bus entered the ditch at 9:05 a.m. on Route 16 in the town of Ischua.

The Sheriff’s Office said the driver, a 57-year-old Cheektowaga man, was ejected in the crash. A female bus monitor suffered minor injuries and received treatment.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.
