A farm and outdoor store is set to open its West Ellicott doors.

Runnings confirmed to The Post-Journal on Tuesday it will open its 720 Fairmount Ave. location on Thursday, Sept. 26. It will be considered a soft opening, with a grand opening planned between Oct. 9 and the 13th.

The Minnesota-based company has 45 stores and employs more than 2,200 workers across seven states. It sells a variety of sporting goods, clothing, footwear, farm supplies and outdoor equipment.

Runnings announced in March it planned to move into the 115,000-square-foot facility, previously home to Sam’s Club. The West Ellicott location began hiring employees in June.

The company said 54 people are currently employed at the local store. Another 42 workers have been hired for the new Plattsburgh location.
