U.S. Rep. Tom Reed was in good condition after he reportedly collapsed before he was set to appear on television Thursday.

Multiple Washington-based media outlets said Reed, R-Corning, was in the rotunda of the Cannon Office Building in Washington, D.C., when the episode occurred around 1:30 p.m.

Reporters at the office building said the congressman was conscious and speaking with paramedics not long after he collapsed.

“Tom is in good condition, responsive, and being checked out by medical personnel following today’s fall,” his spokesman said in an email statement.

A conference call Reed was scheduled to have with regional media Thursday was postponed.
