BARCELONA — Filming for “A Quiet Place 2” kicked off Tuesday night in Barcelona Harbor in Westfield.

An industrial fan, several boats and cranes with lights, as well as standalone spotlights, were in place around the harbor along with several lights near a larger boat docked at the furthest back slip.

A small crowd was gathered on the lawn by the Barcelona Lighthouse, watching the crew set up from behind the police-enforced barrier. “It looks like they’re setting up to shoot a boat scene,” said area visitor Dave Johnson, watching from the grass with his grandchildren. “They’ve been moving things on and off, talking on their phones, it’s going somewhere.”

Filming in Westfield is scheduled through Saturday. Officers with the Westfield Police Department and members of the local fire department also assisted.
