A Jamestown man who police say impersonated a veteran to receive benefits is facing multiple charges, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were alerted June 27 from a local veterans program that 63-year-old Glenn A. French was possibly impersonating a military veteran. An investigation found that French was using an alias “in order to receive services that he otherwise would not be entitled to,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators also learned that the Jamestown man forged a document later found to be fraudulent.

French is facing charges of theft of services, criminal impersonation and forgery. He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.
