ELLINGTON — A woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a crash Tuesday.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies were called around 11:50 a.m. to Route 62 in Ellington for a one-vehicle crash. Deputies learned that 74-year-old Linda Johnson was southbound on Route 62 when she reportedly failed to negotiate a curve. Johnson’s vehicle struck two guard rails in the collisions, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Johnson had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for an evaluation.

Firefighters from Ellington and Kennedy also assisted at the scene.
