A mix of snow and ice has made for tricky driving conditions across the area.

Capt. Eric Balon of the New York State Police said troopers have responded to several reports of vehicles off the road. Balon said at one point — around 10:30 a.m. — six semi tractor-trailers were reported off Interstate 86, many near the Pennsylvania state line.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. this evening. The region could see an additional 2 inches of snow and two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulation.

The warning is for the entire Souther Tier, the weather service said.
