(4:35 PM) Man Eating Soup Rolls Vehicle In Stockton

STOCKTON — A driver who police said was attempting to eat soup ended up crashing his vehicle.

State Police and the Stockton Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover Thursday around 11 a.m.

According to troopers, Dana L. Smith, 42, of Dunkirk admitted that he was eating soup while driving northbound on County Route 380 between Cemetery and Peirson roads, in the town of Stockton. He started to spill the soup and attempted to catch it. As he went to catch it he lost control of the vehicle, went into a ditch and overturned the vehicle.

Smith was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for minor bumps and bruises. He was charged with moving from lane unsafely and unlicensed operation.

The vehicle was towed by KCR
