WARREN, Pa. — A containment boom is being placed across the Allegheny River, near the Starbrick access area, following a massive fire that destroyed a Warren County, Pa., business early Thursday.

The boom is being deployed by Warren County HAZMAT crews due to melted tire product in the river. A fire broke out at Warren Tire around 1 a.m.

County officials said boaters will not be able to navigate over the boom. Those using any watercraft will need to go to the riverbank and walk their boat, canoe or kayak around the boom.
