Man On Stolen Moped Hits House, Taken To City Jail

A Buffalo man faces several charges after allegedly riding a stolen moped into a Crescent Street house and leaving the scene.

Jamestown police officers responded to 112 Crescent St. at 12:49 a.m. Friday for a report of a motorcycle that had hit a house and left the area. Officers checked the area for the vehicle, which was found on Winsor and East Second streets. The driver was identified as Laquil D. Hilson, 21, of Buffalo. Police report Hilson was intoxicated and driving a moped that had been reported stolen. Hilson was taken to the city jail and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, unlicensed operation, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He will be in court later today.
