RAISING?State SALES?TAX Rate

The editorial in Thursday’s edition of The Post-Journal stated Barrie Yochim, Democratic Party candidate for the state Assembly, wants to raise the sales tax. He hopes to see the sales tax revenue grow as the economy grows and does not advocate raising the state’s sales tax.

Ashville Library Closing Only During Evening Hours

ASHVILLE – The Ashville Free Library will be closed only during regular evening hours during the next phase of their building project. The library regrets any inconvenience this may cause and will be open again in the evening as soon as it is safe to do so. For more information, call the library at 763-9906.

AIRPORT FLIGHTS

The Jamestown Airport’s new service provider Sun Air will offer 24 flights during the week – four on each weekday and two each day on weekends – to its sole connecting hub at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

AUXILIARY HARVEST

DINNER

The Lakewood Rod & Gun Club auxiliary board will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The auxiliary harvest dinner will be held Monday at 6 p.m. Members attending should take a dish to pass. Prizes will also be awarded for the best Halloween costume. Beth Stewart and Adrian Madden will be greeters; Moneca Osterhaudt and Nancy Rede, helpers. New officers will be nominated with elections to be held in November. The time of the harvest dinner was omitted in an article in Wednesday’s edition.
