Jamestown man sentenced in narcotics conspiracy

A Jamestown man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a narcotics conspiracy. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Friday that Curtis Snyder, 53, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. Snyder was an associate and co-conspirator of Rocco Beardsley, who sold large quantities of heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other controlled substances in the Jamestown area. Ripley school keeps ‘promise’ on taxes

Ripley Central School Board of Education members received an update on the proposed 2026-27 district budget at the meeting on April 16, with a reminder from District Superintendent William Caldwell that taxes are not being raised. Caldwell said it has been nearly a decade that the tax levy has remained the same. "We are sticking with our promise to not raise taxes," he said.
