School Boards Association schedules events

The Chautauqua County School Boards Association will hold several programs throughout the 2026-27 school year. The 2026-2027 schedule features a range of topics--from emerging technology and state learning frameworks to legal and organizational strategies--offered through general membership dinners, virtual discussions, and annual gatherings:

Oct. 21: NY Inspires and Portrait of a Graduate Update, presented by David Frank, state Education Department assistant commissioner, and Shannon Logan, state Education Department director of strategy, held at the State University at Fredonia Williams Center.

Oct. 22-24:: Representation and participation at the NYSSBA Conference in Buffalo.

Nov. 21: Annual lLegislative breakfast featuring a morning session with state Senator George Borello, state Assemblyman Andrew Molitor and Congressman Nick Langworthy at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron.

Dec. 16, Jan. 20, Feb. 17: Virtual legislative sessions via ZOOM to monitor policy developments and advocate for regional school district needs.

March 17: ABCs of Merger Discussions and Considerations, led by Dr. David O'Rourke, Erie-2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES district superintendent, held at the Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk.

April 21: Highlighting JCC, College Connections, and Workforce Development, hosted at Jamestown Community College (JCC) in Jamestown.

May 26: Annual Meeting and Honors Night, celebrating student achievements and district leadership across Chautauqua County at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron.
