MAYVILLE – During September, Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club members visited the Mayville Public Library and viewed the 67 books that were purchased through a matching Club-Rotary District 7090 grant totaling $1,000. Melissa Bartok welcomed and thanked Janese Berkhouse, Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club chairwoman as well as its Grants Committee chairwoman, for the donation. Due to the library’s ability to buy at a special rate, Bartok was able to turn $1,000 into $1,674.09 in a total purchase. The books covered many topics for both young readers and adults. This is the fourth library that the club has awarded grants to for additional books to be purchased, including the Ripley, Brocton and Sherman libraries.
