Organ Plus Concert is Oct. 18 at First Lutheran Church

The Chautauqua Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will sponsor an Organ Plus Concert on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church.
The concert will feature music by American composers, plus students playing Bach selections, in honor of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration. The concert will include student organists including Greta Roushey, Julia Pound, Emmett Rohler and violinist Miller Spegar. Other church organists will include Donna Gatz, Brian Bogey, Jack Hemink, Owen Reyda, a student at Oberlin University Conservatory, and pianist Jennifer Schruers.
Also, there will be a community choir consisting of members from First Lutheran Church, the CMP Chorale and the Chautauqua Chamber Singers that will perform two choral anthems. The First Lutheran Good News Ringers Bell Choir along with the Bethel Lutheran Bell Choir, under the direction of Karen Linn, will also perform.
The concert is free with a freewill offering will be received in which a portion of the offering will go towards scholarships for young organ students. The public is welcome to attend.
