Kiwanis Club holds baby shower to benefit UPMC Chautauqua

1 min read

The Jamestown Kiwanis Club recently held its annual baby shower to benefit babies and parents through the UPMC Chautauqua Maternity Department.

The donations included four strollers, two pack-and plays, over a dozen handmade baby afghans, and many diapers and other necessities for infants. The items will be given to families in need when they leave the hospital.

The project began 10 years ago when Helene Irvine, the New York District First Lady, asked clubs to undertake a project benefiting babies and maternity departments. It was so well received that the Jamestown Kiwanis Club has continued it annually.

Kiwanis International is a worldwide service organization whose primary purpose is service to youth. For more information, call President Wendy Wilcox at 716-450-6874.
