Audubon First Sunday Story Time Is Nov. 1

The Audubon Community Nature Center is home to a collection of more than 150 birds that were created when bird collections, rather than field guides, were an important resource to learn more about birds. Ralph B. Simpson was a Warren, Pa., native who contributed to the field of ornithology by studying and collecting birds. An exhibit of his work is on permanent display at Audubon. Story teller Claire Certo will lead story time. Doors open at 12:20 p.m. for the 12:30 to 1 p.m. event before the building is fully open at 1 p.m. Program and building admission are both free. After story time, those attending can visit the Simpson Bird Collection exhibit, visit the live animals, exhibits, indoor Nature Play Area and Blue Heron Gift Shop as well as observe the resident birds of prey, walk the trails and have fun in the outdoor Nature Play Area. Reservations for Story Time are requested by Saturday, Oct. 31, by calling 716-569-2345 or visiting AudubonCNC.org/November-first-sunday.
