Audubon to host Wild 5K run/walk
Trending
Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to register for the Audubon Community Nature Center's Wild 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The year's race will honor Tony Dolce, who founded the original "Run For Liberty" with his wife, Anne.
Register by Monday, Oct. 26, and receive a t-shirt. Use the link at AudubonCNC.org/events or go directly to RunSignup.com/Race/NY/Jamestown/Wild5K.
The Wild 5K travels through shady hemlock forests and fields, past ponds, and over boardwalks. Well-marked with white arrows, Audubon's trail system is in a glacial valley, which makes the trail exceptionally flat. Most of the race is on bare ground, with one small section along pavement.
Pre-registrations are appreciated, and necessary by Oct. 26 for the event t-shirt. Walk-ins are welcome. Registration on race day, Nov. 7 is from 8 to 9 a.m. with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. Awards are at 10:45 a.m. Entry fees are $30 for adults, $25 for Nature Center or Chautauqua Striders members and children 3-15, and free for children 2 and under
Money raised in the Wild 5K will support care for ACNC's animal ambassadors, including three birds of prey.
Volunteers are needed for set up, runner check-in, snack station, route monitoring, and clean-up. To volunteer contact Sharon Tefft, volunteer coordinator, at 716-569-2345 or STefft@AudubonCNC.org.
The 2026 Wild 5K is sponsored by Lafayette Corners Furniture.
