What began as an effort by employees of Rand Machine has grown into a signature community event, with the annual PO-FI-VE Golf Tournament celebrating five years of bringing together businesses, golfers, volunteers and community members to support local organizations.
Over the past five years, the tournament has raised and donated more than $75,000 to organizations that serve and protect the local community. This year's tournament proceeds will benefit the Jamestown Police Department, Ellicott Police Department, Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department, Ellington Volunteer Fire Department and Dwyer Chautauqua. The money will help provide much-needed resources to these organizations and support the important work of first responders and veterans.
"We are extremely proud of what this tournament has accomplished over the past five years," said Chad VanEvery, outgoing PO-FI-VE chairman. "To be able to donate more than $75,000 to organizations that do so much for our communities is something everyone involved can be proud of."
VanEvery also credited the many people who contribute their time and resources to make the tournament possible.
"The support we receive each year is incredible," VanEvery said. "This tournament is truly a team effort. The Rand employees volunteer countless hours organizing the event, and the generosity of our sponsors and participants allows us to make a meaningful impact on organizations that give so much to our communities."
The PO-FI-VE Golf Tournament reflects the mission of the PO-FI-VE Foundation to strengthen the community through charitable giving while recognizing and supporting first responders and veterans.
