MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, Aug. 19, with guest speaker Greg Birner.
The club will provide sloppy joes, and members are asked to bring a dish to pass. Sign-ups will also be available for the chicken barbecue on Saturday, Sept. 19.
On July 16, 38 members met at the VFW in Mayville for a club-provided hot dog luncheon. Devotional Chair Dianne Goodrich gave the invocation, followed by the Lord's Prayer, and later led the Pledge of Allegiance. A letter from Carol Bisbee providing an update was read. The July Fourth celebration committee sent a thank-you postcard for the group's donation. Kathie Sukalac gave the treasurer's report.
Goodwill Chair Linda Anderson reported sending birthday cards to Rita Himes, Lester Lucas, Kathleen Rock, Maureen Davis, and Peg Skillman. The group also sang "Happy Birthday" to them. Tour Director Robin Carr reviewed the tours scheduled for August and September.
The kitchen committee was Rita Himes, Fran Miller, Tom DeJoe and Robin Carr.
The guest was Fred Himes' granddaughter, Natalee Kistner.
Door prizes were won by Robin Carr, Dolly Gilbert, Jeanne Sampson, Lester Lucas, Rita Himes, Peter Skillman, Ray Jones, Chip Winchell, and Eric Kreidler who also won the lottery.
