PORTLAND – On Aug. 12, the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program is hosting a Sprayer Technology Demo Day at the Cornell Lake Erie Research & Extension Laboratory (CLEREL), 6592 W Main St., Portland.
The event will feature in-person demonstrations of spraying technology currently available and in development for future use. Demonstrations will include drones, autonomous sprayers and traditional vineyard equipment.
Speakers include Dr. Michael Reinke of Michigan State University, Gwen Hoheise of Washington State University and Dr. Lynn Sosnoskie of Cornell University, with topics including spray drones in grapes, optimizing sprayer settings and precision herbicide applications in vineyards.
Lunch will be provided for attendees who register. In order to facilitate catering, registration is requested as soon as possible.
General attendees will receive a lunch, detailed printed proceedings on equipment demonstrated, the ability to watch equipment demos, the classroom session with extension experts, and the ability to earn New York or Pennsylvania applicator credits. General registration for attendees will be $30 a person.
