First Lutheran to host ELCA associate to bishop Sunday

The Rev. Imani Olear, director of evangelical mission and associate to the bishop for the Upstate New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will be the pulpit guest at First Lutheran Church on Sunday, Aug. 16, at the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services.
Olear works alongside congregations and community leaders across the region, helping churches discover new ways to serve their neighbors, strengthen local ministry, and respond faithfully to the changing needs of their communities. Her work includes supporting new ministries, encouraging community partnerships, equipping congregational leaders, and fostering conversations around faith, justice, and hope.
The Sacred Fire Praise Team, directed by Kimberly King, worship leader and coordinator of contemporary worship, will lead the contemporary worship at 9 a.m. in the worship center located in the lower level of the church. Brian A. Bogey, organist/choirmaster, will lead the 10:30 a.m. worship service in Memorial Chapel. Marika Koch, soprano soloist, will sing "He" by Jack Richards, for the offertory solo. A fellowship hour will take place in the church parlors between worship services.
