DAR presents check to clean veteran gravestones in Lake View Cemetery

The Jamestown Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented the Lake View Cemetery Association with a check to clean the veteran gravestones on Monument Hill.
The money was raised during June's GIVE Big Chautauqua Campaign, where enough money was raised to clean all the stones on Monument Hill. The cemetery is currently researching unmarked veteran graves buried on Monument Hill and working with the Veterans Association to get gravestones for the up to the 28 veterans that do not have markers.
The Lake View Cemetery Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution are trying to raise enough money to pay for the markers' installation cost and are asking the community's help for that endeavor. Donations can be sent through Venmo to @JamestownDAR with a cemetery project comment or given directly to the Lake View Cemetery Association, 907 Lakeview Ave., Jamestown NY 14701 with a check memo line "MH Veteran Marker."
