FREWSBURG – Chautauqua County Legislator Dalton Anthony has announced his candidacy for a third term representing District 16 on the Chautauqua County Legislature, pledging to continue his work on behalf of local taxpayers with a focus on fiscal responsibility, government efficiency, and public safety.

Anthony’s commitment to public service began before his election to the County Legislature. Prior to taking office, he served for two years on the Carroll Town Board. A 2021 graduate of Frewsburg Central School, Anthony currently serves as scheduler and district representative for state Sen. George Borrello.

Anthony serves on the Carroll Water Committee. He also serves on the Chautauqua County Youth Board, the Chautauqua County Airport Commission, and the New York State Fish and Wildlife Management Board.

Within the County Legislature, Anthony serves on the Public Facilities, Administrative Services, and Audit & Control committees. During Anthony’s time in office, Chautauqua County has lowered or held the county property tax rate steady for five consecutive years. The 2026 county budget reduced the county property tax rate to $6.17 per $1,000 of assessed value.

“As your legislator, I’ve always believed government should live within its means while providing the essential services our residents expect,” Anthony said. “Over the past two terms, we’ve demonstrated that we can reduce the property tax burden, improve the efficiency of county government, and continue investing in our communities. Fiscal responsibility, government efficiency, and public safety will remain my priorities as I seek the privilege of serving District 16 for another term. Every decision I make is guided by what is best for our communities and the taxpayers I represent. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I respectfully ask for your support as we continue building a stronger future for Chautauqua County."
