Jamestown cardiologist joins General Physician’s office in Dunkirk

DUNKIRK- General Physician has added Dr. James Cirbus, cardiologist, to its medical staff at 3898 Vineyard Drive, Suite 3, Dunkirk.
Cirbus joins the existing cardiology team in the General Physician Dunkirk office, which includes Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aal Ahmed and physician's assistant Daniel Heusinge. The office also offers primary care and women's health services onsite. Cirbus will also be working in collaboration with Brooks-TLC Hospital, as well as the future Northern Chautauqua Hospital, expected to open in Fredonia by late 2028, to help enhance access to high-quality cardiac care across the region.

Cirbus has amassed more than 40 years of clinical experience. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the New York State Medical Society and Chautauqua County Medical Society, and belongs to both the American Society of Echocardiography and Heart Rhythm Society.
Cirbus received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the State University of New York through the Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals Program. He then went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiology through the same Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals Program.
Following completion of his fellowship, Dr. Cirbus started his professional career at WCA Hospital, now UPMC Chautauqua, where he was promoted to chief of cardiology and director of the hospital's Cardiac Catheterization Lab - a title he's held for more than 20 years.
