Jamestown Planning Commission To Meet Tuesday
The Jamestown Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, in the police training room on the fourth floor of city hall. Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive At Conduit Ministries July 23
The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from noon to 4 p.m. July 23 at Conduit Ministries, 120 Delaware Ave. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Kennedy Library In Midst Of Summer Reading Program
KENNEDY – The Kennedy Free Library is hosting its annual six-week summer reading program. The theme this year is “Unearth a Story.” The library is fully decorated for dinosaur adventures. Summer reading is for children ages 4 to 12 and meets every Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 20 is the last day of summer reading and will feature a concert by Glenn Colton which is open to the public. Ellington Library To Host Checkers The Inventor Wednesday
ELLINGTON – Checkers the Inventor will be coming to the Ellington Farman Library on Wednesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. to present "The Great Dinosaur Discovery Show." Checkers the Inventor is a children’s performer, author and creator of the Reading Road Trip, a nationally recognized literacy series used by schools and libraries. The show is a fast-paced, interactive variety program that features comedy, magic, juggling, stunts and audience participation. Each show is custom-built by Checkers himself, using original inventions, oversized props and big visual moments. Checkers has been featured at events across the country -- including three performances at The White House. No registration is required for the free event. The program is funded by the Falconer Geographic Fund through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The Ellington Farman Library is located at 760 Thornton Road, Ellington. Poland Summer Recreation Program Taking Place
KENNEDY – The Poland Summer Recreation program will be taking place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages 5 to 12. On Mondays, the group meets at Hallquist Park and Wednesdays and Fridays the group meets at the Kennedy Free Library. This program is free for families. On July 29, the group will take a field trip to the Randolph Fish Hatchery for a tour and to Peaches and Cream for ice cream. No pre-registration is required. Call 716-267-4265 with questions.
Prendergast Library To Host Paleontology Party July 21
The Prendergast Library will host a paleontology party at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21. Those attending will excavate foam dinosaur bones and help reassemble dinosaur species. Pretzels and marshmallows provided to make a delicious dino skeleton snack of your own. Come party with us on Tuesday July 21, at 11:30 a.m.. Paleontologists must be 12 and older to join the dig.
