Busti sets slate of summer concerts

BUSTI – Sponsors Busti Hamlet Development Association and Chautauqua Region Community Foundation announce the “Summer Concerts at the Busti Gazebo”. The concert schedule is as follows: July 11 with Check 1, 2, 3; July 18 with Pat Cook with guest John Savage; Aug. 8 with Old Dawg Blue Grass; Aug. 15 with Rustic Ramblers; Aug. 22 with Kokomo Band; and finishing on Aug. 25 with Happy Days. The concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs and plan on enjoying an evening of friendship and great music.

Unearth your story at Prendergast Library’s Curiosity Club

Every Tuesday evening, Prendergast Library’s Curiosity Club invites teen and adult patrons (ages 14 and

up) to experience new interests, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about activities Jamestown has to

offer. Running Tuesdays in July at 5:30 p.m., the library will offer Unearthing Your Story: Preserving Personal History and Creating Your Legacy. There is no cost to attend this program. Registration is recommended as supplies may be limited. Call (716) 484-7135 ext. 2226 to register.

Falconer Village Board to meet

FALCONER — The village of Falconer will be holding its regular monthly meeting of the Mayor & Board of Trustees on Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. in the Fire Exempts Hall, located at 3 Coleson Drive.

Hazeltine Library Summer Programs Begin July 7

BUSTI – Summer programs at the Hazeltine Public Library begin Tuesday, July 7. Programs will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays. The July 7 program features historical toys, games and crafts presented by Victoria Parker from the Busti Historical Society. July 14 will be the animals from the Audubon Community Nature Center including a collection of turtles, snakes and insects. July 21 is the only event that requires reservations, a cookies and cars activity; each child is invited to bring their favorite doll, action figure, stuffed animal to the tea party. Dress up is optional. Stories and crafts and refreshments from earlier times will be featured. July 28 is a Pinata party, on Aug. 4 the instructors from Infinity will bring musical instruments for all to experiment with followed by chalk art on Aug. 11 and rock painting Aug. 18. Events are free and open to the public. Only July 21 requires a reservation by calling the library at 716-487-1281. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti.

Tween Tuesday at Prendergast Library

On July 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 pm, Prendergast Library is running Tween Tuesday! New for Summer Reading, attendees will be building LEGO Race cars from scratch and see whose car will be the fastest! This program is intended for ages 10-13. (Teens can join the fun in their own Game Night on the last Wednesday of each month.)

There is no cost to attend this program, which will be held in the library’s downstairs Conference Lab.

Thrift shop offers clothing, housewares

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., is stocked with summer clothing for all and a large selection of small housewares. Regular shopping hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following ladies’ items are half priced: tops, all plus sized clothing, shoes and purses. Pants and jeans are $1 BOGO. Men’s long sleeve dress shirts are half off. All proceeds are used for outreach in our local community.”

Donations of Retired Flags are Needed

Girl Scouts of Western New York’s Horton Hill Day Camp is looking for donations of retired American flags for their annual Flag Burning Ceremony. No longer usable cotton household flags can be brought to the donation box at the Girl Scout Service Center on 2661 Horton Road, Jamestown. Please donate flags before July 7.
