The Braw Caddie Clan Brothers will host a reunion at Wicked Warrens in Jamestown on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m.
Although all fraternities at Jamestown High School were banned in 1973, the Braw Caddie Clan has continued to convene for reunions and scholarship award ceremonies. The Braw Caddie Clan Scholar-Athlete Excellence Award is regarded as one of the most distinguished scholarships in Western New York. The Clan's legacy endures as scholarship recipients become honorary brothers, serve on the selection committee and contribute to the fund alongside brothers and community members.
"We remember with gratitude and affection those who are no longer with us or are unable to attend," fraternity members said in a news release. "All brothers remain integral to our fraternity’s history and legacy, and their lives and friendships continue to inspire our community."
Stanley Weeks founded the Braw Caddie Clan in 1930 and later referred to clan members as “all my sons.” After fraternities were banned, Weeks and local brothers reunited the clan through correspondence and reunions. The club's scholarship is made possible through collaborations with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Jamestown High School and the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
