WNY Heroes celebrates 10th annual Veterans Fishing Day Friday on Lake Erie

Since its inception, Veterans Fishing Day has provided hundreds of Western New York veterans with the opportunity to enjoy a day on the water while building lasting friendships and connections with fellow veterans and community supporters.
“Veterans Fishing Day is more than a fishing trip,” said Jim Steel, Veterans Fishing Day chairman. “It is an opportunity to thank those who served our country, create meaningful experiences, and strengthen the bonds that unite our veteran community. Reaching our 10th anniversary is a testament to the incredible support of our volunteer captains, sponsors, and community partners.”
The event is made possible through the efforts of WNY Heroes Inc., volunteer boat captains, sponsors, and numerous community volunteers who donate their time, vessels, equipment, and resources to ensure veterans can participate free of charge.
Following the day’s fishing activities, participants will gather for food, fellowship, and recognition of the volunteers and organizations that have helped make the event successful over the past decade.
