JHS announces Students of the Year

Jamestown High School officials recently announced the school’s Students of the Year. They are:

Drew Beebe, ninth grade and the son of Jessica and Adam Beebe. Drew is a part of the Art Club and the Broadcast Communications Club. In his spare time, he likes to make videos and art. After graduation, he plans to go to college to pursue animation.

Beckett Lumia, 10th grade and the son of Scott and Jennifer Lumia. Beckett loves to play sports such as basketball and soccer, and he loves to run track. Beckett is a part of both the varsity indoor and outdoor track teams and varsity soccer team at Jamestown High School. Recently, Beckett was able to qualify for the New York State Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field State Championships. Outside of school, he loves to hang out with friends and family, and work when he has the time. After graduation, Beckett hopes to continue to run track at a higher level, and get into a college of his liking.

Lillian Stormont, 11th grade and the daughter of Lindsey and Peter Johnson. Lillian serves as secretary of her junior class, vice president of Key Club, and co-director of the Broadcast Communications Club. She also plays percussion in Concert Band and sings in the A Capella choir, as well as the Madrigals Choir. During the fall, Lillian serves as drum major for the Red and Green Marching Band, and in the spring, she participates in the school musical. Recently, she received a scholarship to St. Bonaventure.

Eligh DeLeon, 12th grade and the son of Elliott and Ann DeLeon. Eligh is a member of National Honor Society, and firmly ranked inside the top 5% of his class at 15 out of 300. He also plays varsity football, and is a two-time captain of the varsity team, while earning honors that include first team All-WNY Character Athlete, first team All-WNY Student Athlete, first team All League, and an inductee to the Trench Trophy Hall of Fame. Along with football, he plays varsity baseball, and participates in the Ski Club. In his spare time, he volunteers with children and young athletes, and helps with many school and honor society volunteer opportunities. After graduation, Eligh plans to attend the State University at Brockport to study physical education and continue his athletic career on the football team.
