Cheryl Burns, a wildlife rehabilitator and former Agricultural Science teacher at Cassadaga Valley, visited the Hewes Educational Center at E2CCB, where she spoke with Small Animal Science students about wildlife conservation and the importance of contacting a licensed rehabilitator when encountering injured or orphaned animals. Burns was joined by Poot, an owl who serves as an educational ambassador after being struck by a vehicle last year. Due to a wing injury that prevents him from flying or hunting, Poot has remained in Burns’ care.
