PANAMA – Panama Central School officials recently announced the school’s Students of the Second Quarter. They are:

Ace Burdic, seventh grade and the son of Shane Burdic and Alissia Boykin of Ashville. Ace is on the merit roll for the second quarter and his favorite subject is social studies. He is a quiet student with strong character and his teachers say he is exceptionally polite and respectful. He currently does not participate in sports, but has played baseball in the past. Ace is a member of the PCS band. Beyond his coursework, Ace continues to grow with integrity and persistence. He enjoys being outdoors jumping on his trampoline, drawing and watching Jurassic World.

Violet James, eighth grade and the daughter of Jeff and Alexandria James of Panama. Her favorite subject in school is art and her teachers say she is a standout student who is not only responsible and attentive in class but exceptionally respectful to her peers and staff alike. Violet is on the volleyball, basketball, and track teams this year and is also in chorus. Outside of school she enjoys taking walks outdoors, listening to Indie music and watching the animated series Arcane.

Alexis Howard, ninth grade and the daughter of Kody Howard of Panama. She is a dedicated and pleasant student whose presence makes the classroom a better place for everyone. Her favorite subject in school is art where she puts in immense effort into every project she does to reach her highest potential. She has also earned a spot on the honor roll for the second quarter. Alexis is on the swim team and also participates in the PCS band. Outside of school she enjoys reading, history and music with Indie Rock being her favorite genre to listen to. Her favorite thing to read currently is the novel series Apothecary Diaries.

Lillian Abers, 10th grade and the daughter of Shawn and Kristen Abers of Ashville. Lillian is a dedicated student who has been recognized by her teachers for her positive presence in the classroom. Lillian is a part of the school musical this year and is also playing softball. Currently her favorite subject is English. Outside of school she enjoys hanging out with her friends, taking walks, and art. Alternative Rock and Billie Eilish are some of her favorite music outlets. She also enjoys watching the show 10 Things I Hate About You.

Aniela Becker, 11th grade and the daughter of David and Melissa Becker of Warren, Pa. She is on the honor roll and is recognized for her leadership, responsibility, and positive attitude. Her teachers say she is a joy to have in class and is consistently excelling in her coursework. Her favorite subject at PCS is Science. Aniela is a member of multiple organizations at school including High School Bowl, SADD, National Honor Society, Student Government, All-State Band and Choir. She plays volleyball and is also in the orchestra for the school musical. When not in school she enjoys playing Stardew Valley and reading. Her favorite book to read is The Notebook and she also enjoys listening to The Cure.

Lincoln Gibbs, 12th grade and the son of Thomas and Kara Gibbs of Ashville. He is on the honor roll at PCS and is recognized for his exceptional academic performance and incredible work ethic. His favorite subject is Physics. He is in the National Honor Society, participates in Science Olympiad, and is also involved in Boy Scouts outside of school. Lincoln is on the football and tennis teams at PCS and also participates in band. His hobbies include legos and video games and enjoys watching Prison Break.
