RANDOLPH – New Directions Youth and Family Services will present its 16th annual Ed Krieger Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 6, at the Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph.

The event will begin at noon.

Starting in 2011, New Directions Youth and Family Services has hosted an annual golf tournament to honor the memory of Ed Krieger who was a 20-year Air Force veteran and worked at New Directions Youth and Family Services. Krieger was well-known for his character and dedication to the children and families he served. In late 2010, he was diagnosed with bone cancer and passed away 3 months later.

Proceeds from the golf tournament enrich campus life and support opportunities for New Directions Youth and Family Services youth. Opportunities include educational trips, a variety of clubs for youth that focus on growth, and scholarships for graduating seniors. The Edward L. Krieger Memorial Scholarship is granted annually to a graduating senior at New Directions Youth and Family Services who is planning to pursue college, trade school, or military service. Graduating seniors may also receive scholarships awarded in memory of departed New Directions Youth and Family Services southern tier staff members, John Andrews, Gary Archer, Stephanie Canon, Joe Carra, Alex Foulk, Harold Nichols, Nicholas Shelley, and Dale Wadsworth.

The Ed Krieger Memorial Golf Tournament is open to the public. Registration for golf teams of four is open until May 22, online at https://www.fosteringgood.org/events/golf. Space is limited to the first 34 paid teams. The price for registration is $100 per golfer and includes an 18-hole round of golf, a golf cart, special hole prizes, team prizes, lunch, and dinner. Cardinal Hills members are able to register for the golf tournament at a discounted price of $80 per golfer. Attendees may also purchase tickets for giveaways at the event that will be drawn during dinner.

Raffle donations are also gratefully accepted online at https://www.fosteringgood.org/events/golf. The deadline for raffle donations is May 22.
