The Elizabeth Warner Marvin House will host a special luncheon event, Tea with HatTeas, on Thursday, April 23, featuring guest speaker Harriet Sessler, owner of HatTeas Tea House & Cafe.

The event is part of the Marvin House’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, marking 75 years as a women’s organization dedicated to preserving local history and fostering community engagement in Chautauqua County.

The luncheon will feature the Marvin House styled in a traditional tea party setting for the occasion. The luncheon menu will feature classic English scones with currants served with Devonshire cream and raspberry jam, the entree is a spinach and feta crepe paired with a fresh citrus salad of leafy greens, mandarin oranges, and glazed almonds with citrus vinaigrette. Dessert will include bread pudding with bourbon sauce, along with coffee and tea. Following the luncheon, Sessler will present a program exploring the history of tea, its cultural significance, and the distinctions between afternoon tea and high tea, including traditions rooted in British aristocracy.

“The Marvin House has served the region for 75 years, and this event is a wonderful way to celebrate that legacy while bringing the community together,” organizers shared. “We invite guests to experience the charm of the house and enjoy an afternoon of history, hospitality, and connection.”
