The Zonta Club of Jamestown proudly celebrated Rose Day on International Women’s Day recently by recognizing 62 women in the local community whose contributions are focused on improving the lives of others.

Observed each year, Rose Day is a tradition for Zonta clubs around the world symbolizing appreciation, respect and recognition for women who inspire change. This year, the Zonta Club of Jamestown honored a group of women whose work has had a lasting impact across Chautauqua County.

Each honoree was presented with a yellow rose — the official symbol of Zonta — along with a note of recognition from the club. Honorees were invited to attend a reception on April 1 prior to the club’s monthly business meeting. The event was organized by the Rose Day committee – Candace Carlson, Michelle Tambascio, Sue Cala, Linda Richards, and Terrie Tucker
