Chamberlain Trio To Perform Friday

The First Covenant Church Jazz Concert Series will feature the Chamberlain Trio on Friday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. Area saxophonist, John Cross, will host the event at 520 Spring St., Jamestown.
Aidan Chamberlain, leader of the Chamberlain Trio, is an arranger, trombonist and teacher and is an assistant professor at the University of Trinidad and Tobago where he teaches arranging, theory, ensemble and brass applied lessons.
Chamberlain has been a professional trombonist for more than 20 years performing with many of the world’s top orchestras and chamber ensembles. He was a member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic for six years and toured with them to the United States, China and Singapore. He has also worked with many British orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic and Royal Opera Orchestras as well as the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. He has worked extensively in the West End of London on shows such as The Lion King, toured to Italy and South Korea with pop bands, and can be heard on a number of film soundtracks and orchestral recordings.
The Chamberlain Trio will play a variety of jazz, blues, funk and swing classics and will highlight music of George Gershwin. Joining Chamberlain will be Jim Madden on piano and Sonny Froman on drums.
The concert is free to the public. Funding for this community event to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month is provided by the American Federation of Musicians.
