Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet April 24; Host Safe Driving Class April 24

MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens met recently, with Earl Freling, a Ripley chiropractor with 26 years of experience, speaking to the group.

Freling stressed staying active, developing hobbies, and stimulating the brain. His motto is “life to your years, not years to your life.” He discussed sciatic nerve issues and their causes.

Robin Carr corrected the Spragues’ Salamanca trip on April 14 to $129 from $122. A thank you card was received from Jerry and Bev White.

Carr said the group will take a trip to the Botanical Gardens, Ilio DiPaola’s and the Broadway Market on March 31 leaving from Dunkirk. She also mentioned an Amish Dinner at Ada Miller’s home being offered on April 24 at 2 p.m. and costing $25 per person.

The kitchen committee was Joyce Ayers, Karen Heston and Patti Snow.

A safe driving course will be held April 24 from 9 a..m to 3 p..m at Hurlbut Church in Chautauqua Institution. In addition, Office of Aging Services’ Local Roots program announced that there will be a fee this year – $5 with an EBT card or $10 without the card. This is per week during the summer period of the program.

The club welcomed new members Dale and Maureen Davis, Doug and Caroline Mulson, and Earl Freling.

Thirteen door prizes were won by various members. The $5 lottery was won by Bert Rosage.

The group’s April 16 meeting has been rescheduled for April 23 and the Sept. 10 meeting has been moved to Sept. 3.
