The Kennedy Free Library was one of the libraries in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library system to receive approval for a state construction grant. The library is undergoing a two-phase project. Phase one included dividing the existing conference room into two spaces: a work room for employees and an executive office for director Dawn Swanson. Phase one is complete and phase two will include constructing a new conference room off the east end of the existing library which will proceed later this spring. Erik Stornes Construction is the contractor for the project while the library system proof-read the grant application. Library officials also thank community members for their patience during the project.
