The Jamestown Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met recently at the Chop House on Main to commemorate President’s Day with other DAR chapters and the Chautauqua County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
The Jamestown Chapter also had the opportunity to award Paul Fardink of the SAR with the DAR America 250 Commendation Medal and Certificate in recognition of Fardink’s contributions to preserving the legacy of the American Revolution, honoring patriots, and educating the community regarding the Revolutionary War.
Fardink is a retired Army lieutenant colonel who enjoys researching local patriots of the American Revolution. He has been instrumental in having Patriot Burial Markers placed at numerous Chautauqua County cemeteries where Revolutionary War soldiers are buried.
He is also the current vice president of the Chautauqua County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
