Frewsburg Schools Hold Pink Shirt Day
Frewsburg Central Schools recently celebrated Pink Shirt Day across the district. Pink Shirt Day originated as a day to show support for anti-bullying and it has grown into an international celebration of Kindness. The Middle/High School Student Council sponsored the event, which included loads of pink decorations, sticker giveaways, compliment cards, pink sticky-note inspirations, high-fives at Robert H. Jackson Elementary School students’ morning arrival, a prize for best pink outfit, and a building-wide search at the Middle/High School for hundreds of hidden tiny pink ducks. Pink shirts filled the hallways in both schools all day long. According to Amy Thompson, Student Council advisor, Pink Shirt Day was “a fun way to bring positivity (and a little silliness) to FCS while unifying us all in the spirit of kindness and belongingness.” All of the planning and work for the event was achieved by volunteers from Student Council and was made possible due to the cooperation of the staff in both buildings.
