Jamestown Man Charged In Gun Incident
Jacob A. Matherly
A Jamestown man is facing weapons charges after an incident Thursday morning on the north side.
City police say Jacob A. Matherly, 32, is being charged with second-degree harassment, first-degree menacing and felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
At 9:11 a.m., officers, assisted by the New York State Police, responded to a report of a person with a weapon.
An investigation at the scene determined Matherly made verbal threats toward a victim and pointed a handgun at the victim before fleeing to a nearby residence. Officers located Matherly and took him into custody without incident. The residence was secured while detectives obtained a search warrant.
Upon execution of the search warrant, officers and detectives located a .38-caliber revolver inside the residence. Matherly does not possess a New York State pistol permit.
He was being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment
