Jamestown HS Names January Students Of Month
Jamestown High School officials recently named the school’s January Students of the Month. They are:
– Sophia Olmstead, a freshman at Jamestown High School. She appreciates all of the opportunities she has been given and she tries to take advantage of all of them. She is a member of the varsity girls basketball team, and junior varsity volleyball and softball teams. She is also an AT student and tries to keep her grades up throughout the year.
– Cesar Mulonda, 10th grade. He is being recognized for his positive attitude, kindness, and hard work in class. Cesar has many friends, is respectful, and is well liked by his peers because he is respectful and supportive of others. He enjoys practicing soccer and staying active, which helps him stay focused and motivated at school. Cesar continues to grow academically and shows determination when learning new or challenging material.
– Chris Melquist, 11th grade and the son of Todd and Leslie Melquist. Chris plays for the varsity football team and the boys golf team. In his spare time, Melquist enjoys skiing at Holiday Valley with the JHS Ski Club, and going to the gym with his friends. After high school, he would like to attend City College of New York to study anthropology.
– Piper Slagle, 12th grade and the daughter of Nick and Elizabeth Slagle. Piper is a dancer at Dancing With Victoria’s dance studio, and makes the students and staff there keychains and crafts. Piper volunteers with building and painting the sets for Jamestown High School’s yearly musicals, and is a hard worker when it comes to needing a craft or art project around the school done. After graduation, she plans on studying to be an elementary special education teacher at Penn West Edinboro.
