Ellington To Host Take Child To Library Day Events

ELLINGTON – The Ellington Farman Library will take part in National Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday with events from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library’s Children’s Room will be open, with its big yellow chair available for parents and children to curl up in and read. The library has toddler board books for the very young, easy picture books and early literacy chapter books all located in the children’s room with junior books located in the main room. There are four sensory bins that may be used with adult supervision where children can play simple games to reinforce counting, math, letters, colors and more. We

The Makerspace will be open in the Community Room for children to together puzzles, have fun with silly voices using the library’s puppets and be builders with Legos and other craft supplies. There are also games like Jenga, chess, checkers and a variety of card games and ABC Mouse installed on the library’s patron computers. ABC Mouse is an interactive software that is geared toward children between the ages of 4 and 8. New this year the library is offering a selection of Launchpads available to use in the library or to check out.
