CRYB Student Accepted Into Winter Workshop
Tavares White
Tavares White a young dancer with Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet, has been accepted into the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Men’s Winter Workshop, a selective, winter program for male dancers ages 12 and up.
Held recently, the workshop offers rigorous men’s technique, partnering, and strength training, and is known for preparing dancers for the next stage of professional training. The Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s men’s program has produced alumni now dancing with major ballet companies across the country.
Tavares was also accepted into the Chautauqua School of Dance, a highly competitive one-week residential program that selects a small group of talented dancers each summer. During the immersive intensive, students train across a wide range of disciplines — from classical ballet and contemporary to character, Pilates, and musical theatre — working closely with expert faculty and guest artists. The experience culminates in a studio presentation that highlights the dancers’ growth and versatility.
Monika Alch, artistic director of CRYB, said White’s hard work and commitment is starting to pay off. In December, he danced the role of the Nutcracker Prince in CRYB’s production.
