Josniel P. Morales

A Jamestown man is facing three counts of first-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest charges after an incident Wednesday.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., officers of the Jamestown Police Department responded to a west side address for a third-party report of a possible Order of Protection violation.

Upon arrival, officers could hear a male and female arguing inside the apartment. Officers were aware of an active Order of Protection prohibiting the suspect, 23-year-old Josniel P. Morales, from being at the location.

After making contact at the door, officers checked the residence and located Morales hiding inside a bedroom closet.

Morales initially refused verbal commands but was taken into custody without further incident. Officers determined that Morales was in violation of an Order of Protection requiring him to stay away from three protected parties who were present at the residence.

Morales was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and was being held pending arraignment.
