Woman, 18, charged in pair of Dunkirk incidents

DUNKIRK — An 18-year-old city woman is facing charges after a pair of incidents last week, including one involving a knife.

At 5:11 p.m. Friday, Dunkirk Police were dispatched to a home for the recent theft of a coat. Once on scene the victim stated they and the suspect, Asabela Marrero-Pagan, got into a verbal argument. Marrero-Pagan then took the coat of the victim and left the residence. The victim has a valid order of protection against Marrero-Pagan. The theft of the coat violated the terms of the order of protection. Marrero-Paganwas located a short time later and taken into custody. She was charged with criminal contempt and petit larceny. She was held for arraignment.

At 10:13 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to an address for a disturbance. The caller stated they were locked in the bathroom while the suspect was trying to get through the door armed with a knife.

Once on scene patrols detained the suspect, Marrero-Pagan. After a short investigation it was determined Marrero-Pagan was trying to break the door down while threatening the victim with a knife. Marrero-Pagan then threw a glass bottle, breaking it. While trying to break the door down she did cause damage. She was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
