A group of Southwestern High School students recently took a field trip to UPMC Chautauqua to learn about various departments and different professions.

Escorted by Joli Messinger and Chelsey Winchester of the Counseling Center, the students had an opportunity to explore several healthcare careers via hands-on experiences and department rotations, including: Nursing, radiology, diabetic education, laboratory (medical technology and phlebotomy), physical/occupational therapy, and pharmacy.

The group connected with Southwestern Central School District alumni Hilary Shilling (Class of 2010), Chloe Wassman (Class of 2015) and Ben Whitman (Class of 2021), all currently working at UPMC.
